CLUB SAFETY RULES

CLUB RULES ARE PUT IN PLACE WITH THE AIM OF PROVIDING A SAFE AND ENJOYABLE ENVIRONMENT FOR MEMBERS VISITORS AND GUESTS TO PURSUE THEIR SPORT HOBBY OR SPECTATOR INTERESTS.

ABSENCE OF A RULE IN THE EVENT THAT NO APPROVED RULE EXISTS TO COVER A SITUATION, THEN THE MATTER IS TO BE REFERRED TO THE CLUB COMMITTEE FOR RESOLUTION. THE CLUB COMMITTEE MAY MAKE NEW RULES, OR VARY OLD RULES, AS NEEDED – SAVE THAT NEW AND AMENDED RULES ARE TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE FIRST AVAILABLE GENERAL MEETING OF THE CLUB FOR RATIFICATION.

1. ALL PILOTS MUST HOLD CURRENT M.A.A.A. INSURANCE.

2. PILOTS AND INSTRUCTORS ARE TO CONFIRM SAFE OPERATIONAL CONDITIONS BEFORE TAKEOFF.

3. THE ONLY PEOPLE PERMITTED TO ACCESS AND USE THE PIT AREA, AT ANY TIME, ARE THOSE PERSONS INTENDING TO OPERATE ONE OR MORE MINIATURE AIRCRAFT PLACED IN THE PITS; OR WHO ARE ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN FIELD MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES.

4. ALL NEW OR VISITING AIRCRAFT MUST BE CHECKED BY A COMPETENT CLUB MEMBER OTHER THAN THE OWNER OR BUILDER BEFORE FLIGHT. C.A.S.A. AND M.A.A.A. RULES AND RESTRICTIONS APPLY TO HEAVY MODELS. IT IS IN ALL OUR INTERESTS TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES IN ORDER TO AVOID NEGATING INSURANCE.

5. ALL AIRCRAFT MUST CONFORM TO LVAC SOUND RESTRICTIONS THESE BEING 96Db AT A DISTANCE OF 7 METRES. SEE LVAC SOUND LEVEL TESTING PROCEEDURE.

6. STARTING RESTRAINTS WILL BE USED FOR ALL INTERNAL COMBUSTION POWERED AIRCRAFT. IF RESTRAINTS ARE USED OTHER THAN THE CLUB HARD POINTS THEY SHOULD BE PLACED PARRALELL TO THE HARD POINTS, NOT FACEING THE PITS OR WITH THE PROP WASH AND EXHAUST BLASTING DIRECTLY INTO THE PITS!

7. NO FLYING IS PERMITTED OVER THE PITS OR SPECTATOR AREA. PILOTS SHOULD MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO RESTRICT FLYING OPERATIONS TO THE AREA INDICATED ON THE FLYING AREA MAP. AFTER TAKE-OFF OR HAND LAUNCH, FLYERS MUST MOVE TO THE DESIGNATED PILOT BOX. MODELS WITH ENGINE FAILURE (DEAD STICK) AND SAILPLANES HAVE LANDING PRIORITY OVER ALL OTHER AIRCRAFT.

8. WHEN RETURNING AIRCRAFT TO THE PITS ALL ENGINES MUST BE STOPPED AT THE EDGE OF THE RUNWAY AS INDICATED BY THE WHITE PAINTED EDGE MARKERS.

9. TRAINEE PILOTS ARE ONLY PERMITTED TO FLY UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF QUALIFIED M.A.A.A INSTRUCTORS, GOLD WING PILOTS OR LISTED CLUB INSTRUCTORS.

10. WHEN 29, 36 OR 40 Mhs TRANSMITTERS ARE IN USE, KEYS MUST BE DISPLAYED ON FREQUENCY BOARD. THESE TRANSMITTERS MUST BE PLACED IN THE POUND WHEN NOT IN USE.

11. ALL VISITORS MUST RECORD THEIR NAME, NORMAL RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS AND SIGNATURE IN THE VISITORS BOOK BEFORE COMMENCING ANY FLYING ACTIVITY. IF THE VISITOR HOLDS AN FAI CARD, THE AUS NUMBER MUST ALSO BE RECORDED.

12. NO SMOKING IN THE PIT AREA.
